Introduction
The prowler is the multi-purpose spacecraft utilized by the Peacekeeper fleet. Primary role is of a fighter/attack designation with a secondary role of scout/probe. It is lightly armored but is highly maneuverable due to its variable vector secondary engine design.
The prowler was designed initially for the fleet as a scout class harassing spacecraft (hence the name). With its sleek design and impressive engine displacement to weight ratio, Peacekeeper High Command realized the value in replacing the aging strike fighter (predator) with the prowler. The former had more armor and weaponry but was decidedly disadvantaged due to its inability to perform quick maneuvers to avoid most ordnance from enemy fighters. While the predator itself was able to sustain a great deal of punishment and still be salvaged and reassigned with minimal repair time, the fragile pilots inside often did not fare as well.
It was with great relief to the majority of Peacekeeper fighter pilots that the prowler project was accepted and developed to the state it is today. For the first time in arns the Academy was able to supply enough fighter pilots to fill the cockpits as well as welcome several new found aces into their ranks in the process.
The basic rules of engagement remain the same for any flight combat. The prowler proved that in the right hands it is a formidable fighter and not just an afterthought.

Phases of Space Combat

Diagram Legend: Black and Green indicate Attacker direction and course while Orange and Red indicate Defender direction and course respectively.
There are 5 phases of spatial combat as illustrated in the diagram above.
1. Detection
2. Closure
3. Attack
4. Maneuver
5. Disengagement
